Create Passport Photos with Claude — No App Needed

You can now create passport and ID photos directly inside Claude. No app to install, no website to visit — just describe what you need, upload your photo, and download the result. All within a conversation.

This works through Claude's connectors feature, which lets Claude use external tools. ID Neat is available as a connector that gives Claude the ability to create spec-compliant ID photos for over 200 country and document combinations.

How to Set It Up

Setting up is a one-time process that takes about 30 seconds.

In the Claude Desktop App

1. Click the + button at the bottom-left of the chat input.
2. Hover over Connectors, then click Manage connectors.
3. Click the + button in the top-right corner of the Connectors panel.
4. Select Add custom connector.
5. Enter ID Neat as the name and https://api.idneat.com/mcp as the URL.
6. Click Add.

That's it. ID Neat now appears under your connectors and is available in every conversation.

In Claude on the Web

1. Go to Settings > Connectors.
2. Click Add custom connector at the bottom.
3. Enter ID Neat as the name and https://api.idneat.com/mcp as the URL.
4. Click Add.

How to Use It

Once connected, just ask Claude to create a photo. For example:

• "Create a US passport photo"
• "I need a UK visa photo"
• "Make a Canadian passport photo for me"

Claude will open the ID Neat photo creator directly in the conversation. You'll see an upload area where you can click to select your photo. After uploading, the tool automatically:

• Removes the background
• Crops and centers your face
• Resizes to the exact spec dimensions
• Applies the correct background color

The processed photo appears in the panel with a Download Photo button. Click it and Claude will prompt you to save the file to your device.

What You Get

Every photo is processed to match official government specifications:

• Correct dimensions — 2x2 inches for US passport, 35x45mm for EU documents, and so on.
• Proper resolution — at least 300 DPI, with digital pixel dimensions matching each spec (e.g., 600x600 px for US passport).
• Compliant background — white, light gray, or whatever the spec requires.
• 200+ specs — passports, visas, national IDs, and driver's licenses for countries worldwide.

Most passport photo tools require you to open a separate app or website, create an account, and navigate through multiple steps. With the ID Neat connector, the entire process happens inside a conversation you're already having.
